Job Description:

Our client, an international Fortune 500 company, has exclusively engaged us to identify an environmental attorney with around 3-9 years of experience for a position at the company’s global headquarters in the Mid-West.  Candidates must have graduated from a top law school (first or second tier ranking only) and have large law firm training. 

Responsibilities will include CERCLA case management as well as case management of legal issues involving remediation and reclamation under other federal state laws and regulations.  This position is also responsible for providing legal counsel to the company’s Environmental Health & Safety function in connection with matters related to federal and state environmental regulatory and compliance (TSCA, OSHA, FDA, RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc.), sustainability and climate change issues. 

Additional responsibilities may include: selecting and actively managing external counsel and experts; establishing and monitoring financial reserves and expense budgets and coordinating with the clients Corporate Risk Management team concerning insurance; and overseeing paralegals and administrative staff.
