Job Description:

Our client, an international Fortune 100 company, has exclusively engaged us to identify an employment attorney with 3-6 years of experience for an outstanding opportunity at its Mid-West headquarters.  This position will be responsible for counseling management as well as human resources professionals in connection with a variety of employment law matters such as discrimination and harassment, wage and hour issues, hiring procedures, employee status and worker classification, individual terminations and reductions in force, disciplinary procedures, and leaves of absence.  This position will also be responsible for drafting and updating domestic and global employment-related policies as well as providing training regarding compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations such as the ADA, ADEA, Equal Pay Act, FLSA, FMLA, NLRA, OSHA, Title VII, and USERRA.  In addition, the position will assist with and advise on internal investigations relating to alleged harassment, discrimination and other workplace claims. 

Candidates must have outstanding academic credentials from a top law school as well as large law firm training and/or in-house experience at a large corporation.  Our client has an excellent eye for hiring “best athlete” candidates within its legal department and provides the opportunity for stellar attorneys to acquire new experience and expand their skill sets in challenging and unique ways.  Personality will be a key factor in securing this position. 

This role, which reports directly to the Lead Counsel, HR, Employment and Labor Law, requires a personable self-starter who is confident, collaborative, flexible, responsive and highly motivated.  Candidates must have strong business acumen, be service-oriented, and have stellar written and oral communication skills. This individual will also need to excel at handling multiple projects simultaneously and exhibit a high level of integrity and maturity.
